Feedback on the PhD council

From the PhD survey, the evaluation of the PhD day and some ‘real life’ remarks during the PhD day, we received some great feedback to our work as a PhD council. We are very happy to hear that you experienced the PhD day as well organised and will use your suggestions in organising the PhD day next year. At this moment, we are working on a way to you updated, either via e-mail or our website, as you requested in the survey and the feedback on our introduction at the PhD day. This way we hope it will be more transparent for you what the PhD council is working on and how you can get involved.

In addition, we received the question whether the PhD council should not be an elected body? In theory our answer to this is: yes it should be! But in practice, we notice that the number of people interested in joining the council is lower that the number of seats available, making an election unnecessary (and therefore needlessly time consuming). For example, we asked in our feedback form about the PhD day ‘Would you be interested in joining the council?’ and none of the answers on this question was positive. However, we are looking for new members (see this news item), so please sign up if you are interested in joining the council!
