Dear PhDs, Junior Lecturers and Junior Researchers of Geosciences,

We are pleased that many of you attended the Pizza Lunch on the 28th of August. Via this email we would like to inform you of our upcoming events and activities. And we hope to see as many of you again during these events.

 

  1. PhD Introduction Day

On October 15th, the Graduate School of Geosciences will organize an introduction day for PhD candidates. This event is organized to help new PhD researchers get familiar with their track, the organization, services, facilities and fellow colleagues. Lunch will be provided. After the meeting, an optional tour is given to the Earth Simulation Laboratory and Fort Hoofddijk. Please register via this form. The deadline for registration is Tuesday 8th October.

  1. Career Services for PhDs

Career services is offering PhD candidates the opportunity to take part in workshops, sessions of career coaching and online tests. These facilitate job orientation and personal development meant for both during and just after your PhD. The link to these workshops can be found here. Please register well in advance for these workshops since available spots are limited.

 

  1. Save the date

25th of October – Halloween drinks An evening get together with drinks, candy and Halloween costumes.

12th of May – PhD Day – An afternoon event providing PhD candidates and junior researchers and teachers with workshops on improving their soft skills

February/March – Sports event – We plan on organizing a team sports event (football/volleyball).
