Newsletter April 2021

Dear PhD’s, Junior Lecturers and Junior Researchers,

This academic year has entered its final few months. The COVID-19 pandemic is unfortunately still a (sometimes harsh) reality, but there is light at the end of the tunnel: the university is counting on the next academic year being a more ‘normal’ one, with more education and more working on campus and in the office. So, much to look forward to!

Recently, we rebranded ourselves as the Young Geoscientists’ Council to be more inclusive, since we organise events for not only PhD candidates but also for Junior Lecturers and Junior Researchers.

Activities

The last couple of months, we have organized several workshops and two pubquizes and are planning new pubquizes (with free borrelboxes!), free bookshares, pizza lunches and an excursion.

Save the date:

  • Holiday themed Pubquiz : 28th of May.
  • Bookshare. Discussion of the book: 16th June.

We will keep you posted on these events (how to register etc.) and more via mail and our website: https://geophd.sites.uu.nl/category/agenda/

We are looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you at one of our events!

Best wishes and stay safe,

The Young Geoscientists’ Council
