Dear PhD’s, Junior Lecturers and Junior Researchers,

With almost all the COVID-19 restrictions lifted, we are ready to organize and host events once again! In this newsletter we will explain a little bit about:

• The YoungGeo Excursion (22-24th April 2022)
• Our new monthly Thursday drinks
• The re-instatement of the Pizza Lunches every first Monday of the month

Young Geo Excursion

We are happy to finally announce our Young Geo Council excursion and share the sign-up form. On April 22-24th (leaving Friday after the workday) we will be going with a group of 32 Young Geoscientists to explore some nice Dutch countryside, nature, and cities. This both informative and fun trip would be the perfect occasion to get to know a bit about the fields of research in our faculty, the Netherlands and especially your fellow PhD’s, Junior Lecturers and Junior Researchers.

We will be staying in Drenthe in a very Dutch holiday park, visit the National Park Weeribben Wieden, be sure to visit some super Dutch ancient towns/cities, and much more other fun stuff.

We will be asking a contribution of every participant of €149.95. This price includes everything for the weekend. Thir(d)sty Thursday – Drinks are on us!

In addition to the Monthly Pizza Lunch hit, the Young Geo Council brings you a NEW monthly event – Thir(d)sty Thursdays. Clear your agendas, because the drinks and snacks are on us!

We will kick off with a 5-minute pitch from a colleague to learn more about their research, followed by drinks. The first event will take place on Thursday, March 17th, 2022, at 17:00.

Pizza Lunches…

…are back! Every first Monday of the month, in or around the VMA building, depending on the weather. Keep an eye on our Teams Channel to find out where you can get your slice(s) of FREE pizza.
